Hope I've got this isn the right category....

Done is 3DS and extensive post production in PS. It is supposed to represent a living heart conected to a machine via the pipes. What is being pumped round I don't know but it appears to be red ;)

Hope you like it and as ever comments are most welcome, especially those that contain some feedback in how I can improve :)

The effects used are very nice--it gives it a quasi-realistic feel.

I say quasi-realistic because it doesn't QUITE look like a real human heart--it looks cooler. The machines attached to it have a very nice metalic feel--great job.

The design is good and the heart is very well designed. U should have maybe made the life line a lot sharper, with a lower opacity or darker colour. But overall its a great render. Different to the stereotypical abstract lines and curves. I like, and just because you made such a good render, (I cant even design stuff like this yet) I am gonna fav it.

Its comments like these that make it all worth while, thank you :)

I did play a lot with the lifeline and finally decided on this one as I didn't want it to tear focus away from the heart.....it was really a balance between making it visible and adding to the piece and making it so subtle that you could hardly see it. I wanted it to be quite blurred as well as this would take it back into the background instead of impinging on the foreground render....

Sorry I went on a bit there ;)

Many thanks....thats the exact effect I wanted. If it was too human it would look out of place....too mechanical and it would just look odd :)

Nah its cool, I had a good look at it, It does compliment the render alot better not being so sharp...It was just a thought.Its almost as if it has scanlines like the lifeline screen would have. But yeah great work. More:!:

the heart looks very good, a bit artificial but i like it ! good modelling ;) Also, maybe you could have added some red glow to the pipes...Aaaaand some more 2D would be good, the wallpaper looks a bit empty in my opinion. Good job, make it better !

Thats the same problem I had...I now have the time (I quit college) but my PC cant handle NURB renders and thats what I have been trying recently... So yeah, but I await your next masterpiece. :D :D :D

Balls - I can't believe I didn't put a red glow on the pipes! Thank you for pointing that out :). I always make mistakes like that :(

As for 2D, I would add more 2D but there is one small problem.....I'm crap at it! No, really I am! If you have any tips and tricks then please share as its a lost art to me ;)
